If you encounter a TAP driver error when trying to connect to ApexGuard, follow these steps:

Check for TAP Driver Errors

  1. Open the ApexGuard app and go to:
    Settings → Advanced → Run Diagnostics Tool → Collect Diagnostics.
  2. Locate the diagnostics folder at:
    C:Program FilesApexGuardDiagnostics.
  3. Open the most recent .zip file and find the service-XXXX-XX-XX.nwl log file.
  4. Open the log file in a text editor and look for the following errors:

Error: “All TAP-Windows adapters on this system are currently in use”

  • Solution: Restart the TAP adapter:
    1. Open Control Panel → Network and Sharing Center → Change Adapter Settings.
    2. Locate the TAP-ApexGuard Windows Adapter v9.
    3. Right-click it, select Disable, then right-click it again and select Enable.

Error: “There are no TAP-Windows adapters on this system” or “Blocking DNS failed”

  • Solution: Reinstall TAP drivers:
    1. Open Control Panel → Add or Remove Programs.
    2. Find the ApexGuard network TAP, then uninstall it.
    3. Download and reinstall the TAP drivers from the ApexGuard website.
