How to Change DNS Servers on Windows
Switching to ApexGuard’s DNS servers can improve your connection. Follow these steps:
Windows 7, 8.1, and 10
- Right-click the network icon in the taskbar and select Network and Sharing Center.
- Click Change Adapter Options.
- Right-click TAP-ApexGuard Windows Adapter V9 and select Properties.
- Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties.
- Choose Use the following DNS server addresses and enter:
- Preferred DNS server: 103.86.96.100
- Alternate DNS server: 103.86.99.100
- Repeat steps 3–5 for your physical network adapter (Ethernet or Wi-Fi).
Windows 11
- Open the magnifying glass icon and search for Manage Network Adapter Settings.
- Select TAP-ApexGuard Windows Adapter V9 and click View Additional Properties.
- Next to DNS server assignment, click Edit.
- In the pop-up window, choose Manual:
- Turn on IPv4.
- Enter:
- Preferred DNS: 103.86.96.100
- Alternate DNS: 103.86.99.100
- Turn off IPv6.
- Click Save.
- Repeat steps 2–4 for your physical network adapter (Ethernet or Wi-Fi).
