How to Disable IPv6 on Windows
Disabling IPv6 can resolve certain connectivity issues. Follow these steps based on your Windows version:
Windows 7, 8.1, and 10
- Right-click the network icon in the notification tray and select Open Network & Internet Settings.
- Open Network and Sharing Center.
- Click your network adapter and choose Properties.
- Uncheck Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6).
- Click OK and Close.
Windows 11
- Click the magnifying glass icon in the taskbar and search for Network Connection.
- Open the matching result and right-click your network adapter.
- Select Properties.
- Uncheck Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6).
- Click OK and Close.
