Connecting to ApexGuard with the Edge Extension
Installing the ApexGuard Edge Extension
- Download and install the extension through the Edge Add-ons page, then click Get.
- Review and accept the permissions by clicking Add Extension.
- The ApexGuard logo will appear on your toolbar after installation. Click it to log in or sign up with your ApexGuard account.
Using and Customizing the ApexGuard Edge Extension
- Smart connection: Click to connect instantly to the fastest available server.
- All, Recent, Favorites: Browse all locations, reconnect to recent ones, or save favorites with the star icon.
- Search locations: Find a server by country.
- Protected status: The extension shows whether you’re connected and protected.
Settings
- General: Set your theme and language, toggle Help Improve ApexGuard (shares anonymous performance data), and choose whether to store settings locally in your browser. Under Backup your settings, you can export or import your settings as a JSON file.
- Network & Privacy: Configure Auto-connect, Threat Protection (blocks ads and malicious websites while connected to VPN), Kill Switch, Location Spoofing (syncs your browser location and time zone with your VPN), and Auto-reload all tabs. You can also download diagnostic logs to share with support.
- Split Tunneling: Add a domain or IP to control which traffic uses the VPN.
