Connecting to ApexGuard with the Firefox Extension
Installing the ApexGuard Firefox Extension
- Download and install the extension through the Firefox Add-ons page, then click Add to Firefox.
- Allow the extension to run in private windows by checking the box and clicking Add.
- Once installed, the ApexGuard logo will appear on the toolbar in the top-right corner of your browser.
- Click the ApexGuard logo, log in with your ApexGuard credentials, and start using the extension.
Using and Customizing the ApexGuard Firefox Extension
- Smart connection: Click to connect instantly to the fastest available server.
- All, Recent, Favorites: Browse all locations, reconnect to recent ones, or save favorites with the star icon.
- Search locations: Find a server by country.
- Protected status: The extension shows whether you’re connected and protected.
Settings
- General: Set your theme and language, toggle Help Improve ApexGuard (shares anonymous performance data), and choose whether to store settings locally in your browser. Under Backup your settings, you can export or import your settings as a JSON file.
- Network & Privacy: Configure Auto-connect, Threat Protection (blocks ads and malicious websites while connected to VPN), Kill Switch, Location Spoofing (syncs your browser location and time zone with your VPN), and Auto-reload all tabs. You can also download diagnostic logs to share with support.
- Split Tunneling: Add a domain or IP to control which traffic uses the VPN.

- Support Assistance: Access live chat support and detailed help resources.
- Notifications: Receive updates and news about the ApexGuard extension.
