Installing ApexGuard Application on macOS
Downloading and Installing the ApexGuard App
- Visit the official ApexGuard Downloads Page and download the latest macOS version.
- Locate the ApexGuard.pkg file in your Downloads folder or desktop. Double-click on the file to begin the installation.
- Note: Ensure the file is saved locally on your Mac and not within cloud-sync tools (e.g., Dropbox).
- Follow the on-screen instructions in the installation window:
- Click Continue to proceed.
- Click Install to begin the installation process.
- When prompted, provide your Mac password or use Touch ID to authorize the installation.
- If a pop-up appears asking for permission to access the Downloads folder, click OK.
- Once the installation is complete, a confirmation message will appear. Click Close to finish the process.
Setting Up and Using the ApexGuard Application
- Open Launchpad and click the ApexGuard icon to start the application.
- Log In or Sign Up:
- For existing users, click Log In and enter your email and password. You can also log in with your Google account, Apple ID, or a one-time code.
- For new users, click Sign Up and follow the steps to create an account by entering your email and other details.
- After logging in, you may need to grant permissions for optimal functionality.
- Upon successful login, the main ApexGuard dashboard will open, allowing you to:
- View the interactive server map.
- Access specialty servers.
- Explore additional features like Threat Protection and Dark Web Monitor.
Connecting to Servers
- Quick Connect: Click the button in the top-right corner to connect to the fastest available server.
- Connect to a Specific Server:
- Use the Search field in the top-left corner to locate servers by country, category, or server number (e.g., Canada #1224).
- Select the desired option and click to connect.
- Connect to a Specific Country:
- Browse the Country List on the left sidebar, which includes specialty categories.
- To connect to a specialty server, click the three-dot menu next to a category and select a country.
- Click the country name to establish a connection.
ApexGuard Features
Map
The interactive map is the central hub for finding and navigating ApexGuard servers. Use the search bar, map interface, or specialty section to quickly locate the best connection.
Threat Protection Pro™
- Automatically blocks ads, trackers, and malicious URLs.
- Provides real-time alerts for scam websites.
- Scans downloads and apps for malware and vulnerabilities.
- Works without an active VPN connection (Pro feature).
If your subscription doesn’t include Pro, standard Threat Protection is available, blocking intrusive ads and malicious domains while connected to a VPN server.
Dark Web Monitor
Scans the web for leaked credentials associated with your registered email, helping you stay protected from potential data breaches.
Presets
Easily create and manage configurations for different activities like streaming, gaming, or browsing:
- Navigate to the Preferences page.
- Click Add New to create a preset.
- Configure options such as server type, protocol, and specific regions.
- Add links or apps for quick access.
- Save the preset for future use.
Statistics
Provides detailed information about your connection, such as server performance and data usage.
ApexGuard Settings
General
- Auto Launch on Startup: Automatically starts ApexGuard when your Mac turns on.
- Check for Updates: Ensures you’re always using the latest version.
- Help Us Improve: Sends aggregated, anonymous data to enhance the app’s functionality.
Auto-Connect
- Automatically connects to the VPN when on an untrusted network.
- Add trusted Wi-Fi networks to bypass automatic connections.
Kill Switch
Prevents unprotected internet access if the VPN connection drops unexpectedly.
DNS Settings
Enhance privacy and security by using private ApexGuard DNS servers.
Appearance
Customize the app’s interface with light or dark mode and dock/menu bar preferences.
Refer a Friend
Share your referral link to invite friends to ApexGuard and earn rewards.
Account
Manage your profile, subscription, and access ApexGuard’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
