How to Set Up a Dedicated IP

If you’ve purchased a Dedicated IP, follow these steps to set it up:

1. Log in to your ApexGuard account.
2. Navigate to your dashboard and select ApexGuard.
3. If your dedicated IP isn’t ready, you’ll see a Setup Required warning in the Dedicated IP tab.
4. Click Set Up Dedicated IP.
5. Open the Preferred IP Address Location drop-down menu and select a country.
6. Click Set Up Dedicated IP to confirm.
7. Your assigned IP address will now appear in the Dedicated IP tab.

ApexGuard Proxy Setup for BitTorrent

Using ApexGuard with BitTorrent

ApexGuard supports BitTorrent and most peer-to-peer platforms. If you prefer not to use the ApexGuard app, you can set up a VPN proxy for secure file sharing. Please note that ApexGuard must not be used to bypass copyright laws. Refer to the ApexGuard Terms of Service for more details.

How to Set Up ApexGuard with BitTorrent

1. Open BitTorrent:
   • Navigate to the menu bar and click Options > Preferences.
   • Alternatively, press Ctrl + P.
2. Configure Proxy Settings:
   • Go to the Connection section.
   • Under Proxy Server, select Socks5 from the Type dropdown.
3. Enter Proxy Server Address:

In the Proxy field, input one of the following ApexGuard server addresses:

1. Set the Port:

In the Port field, type:

1. Enable Required Options:
   • Select the following checkboxes:
     • Authentication
     • Use proxy for hostname lookups
     • Use proxy for peer-to-peer connections
     • Disable all local DNS lookups
     • Disable features that leak identifying information
     • Disable connections unsupported by the proxy
2. Enter Authentication Details:
   • Username: Your ApexGuard service username.
   • Password: Your ApexGuard service password.
3. To find your ApexGuard credentials:
   • Log in to your account.
   • Click Set Up ApexGuard Manually.
   • Enter the verification code sent to your email.
   • Copy your credentials using the “Copy” button.
4. Save Changes:
   • Click Apply, then OK.

How to Check If Your Proxy Setup is Working

1. Visitipleak.net.
2. Scroll to the Torrent Address Detection section and click Activate.
3. Click the Magnet Link to open BitTorrent.
4. Keep ipleak.net open while BitTorrent opens.
5. Once the torrent starts downloading metadata, check the Torrent Address Detection section on ipleak.net. The IP address displayed should match your chosen ApexGuard SOCKS5 proxy server.
