How to Set Up ApexGuard on Android
How to Download and Install ApexGuard for Android
- Open the Google Play Store on your Android device.
- Search for ApexGuard in the search bar and select the app from the results.
- Tap Install.
Setting Up the ApexGuard Mobile App for Android
- Open the ApexGuard app.
- In the main menu, tap Sign Up to create an account, or Log In if you already have one.
- Your browser opens to the ApexGuard account page:
- To sign up, follow the steps to create an account and choose a plan.
- To log in, enter your credentials to continue.
How to Use the ApexGuard Android App
- Connect to a server: Tap Smart Connection to connect automatically to the fastest server, or choose a location from the list or the Search locations bar.
- Browse locations: Use the All, Recent, and Favorites tabs, or tap a country to expand its cities. You can also use the map to connect visually.
Choosing Between Different Servers
- By Country:
- Swipe up to open the Country List and tap a country to connect to a server in that location.
- Alternatively, select a country pin on the map or search for a country in the search bar.
- By City:
- Tap the three dots next to a country to choose a specific city.
- Use the search bar to find servers in a specific city.
Settings
- Auto-Connect: Keeps ApexGuard connected automatically for continuous protection. You can choose when it connects (All Networks, Wi-Fi, or Cellular) and set a preferred location to connect to.
- Kill Switch: Blocks internet access if the VPN connection drops, protecting your real IP address.
- Split Tunneling: Choose which apps use the VPN and which connect directly.
- General:
- Appearance: Choose your app icon placement and visual theme.
- Notifications: Stay informed about security, privacy, and account updates.
- Help Improve ApexGuard: Share anonymous usage data to help improve the app.
- Other Settings: Access Terms of Service and policies, share ApexGuard with others, and check for updates.
Sideloading the ApexGuard App
If you cannot download ApexGuard from the Play Store, you can download the .apk file from the official website. Follow these steps to sideload the app:
- Change your security settings to allow installation from unknown sources:
- On Android 8.0 and later: Go to Settings > Security & Privacy > More Settings > Install Unknown Apps, select the browser used to download the file, and enable Allow from This Source.
- On Android 7.0 and below: Navigate to Settings > Security > Unknown Sources and enable the option.
- Install the .apk file and launch the app.
